God’s greatest gift to us isn’t relationships, it isn’t communication, it isn’t even prayer…but His greatest gift to us is choice…free will.
Without it, nothing else we do would matter.

I’ve learned soooo much that NOTHING we do is without choice…whether or not we know it…cause God didn’t want to create a bunch of wandering bodies doing what He says as soon as he snaps his fingers. He wanted REAL love, love by a choice – NOT based on a feeling, NOT based on his whim.

You can’t have a real relationship without choice, you can’t have prayer without choice.
He’s taught me that EVERY single feeling I’ve ever had was based on a choice.
Great feelings come from choice.
Poorer choices come from feelings.

If I only did what I felt like, I’d be in a terrible mess in my life. Most of the people around me wouldn’t feel loved, I wouldn’t work most of the time, and I doubt I would ever exercise – and even prayer might be close to none. But to realize that God has given me the gift of choice to do what I should, whether or not I feel like it, is Amazing! And more often than not, once I choose to do something, the feelings come as a result of my action. Just like actively choosing to show Kim I love her by asking about her day or spending time talking with her, even if I feel like I want to be quiet for the rest of the day. Usually after I do this, I feel more love towards her than I had felt before.

Every action we do is a choice, and that’s the greatest gift we have from God. There is no real love without choice. So in thankfulness to God’s gift to us, go out and choose to love.
